Network like a professional

When you attend a networking event, are you too eager to pass out your business cards and tell everyone about your business?  A better way to start the conversation is (first relax)  and request information from them.  A good opening phrase is  “Tell me more about your business?”  Try spending  the time you have with prospects (or people who might know a prospect) asking questions and collecting information.  Be a good listener.  Don’t be a self-centered networker. Serve others in your network long before you ever expect to get anything in return. Givers get!  Do you have a success story of how you have successfully grown your business through your networking efforts?
